Q&A at Black Flag Studios: Answers to Your Most Common Tattoo Questions. If you do not see your question below, feel free to contact us directly.
Do I need an appointment?
We accept walk-ins as time allows us. Be sure to call ahead Tuesday-Saturday from 12pm to 8pm to ensure we have time for your desired piece.
Can I get a tattoo if I'm sick or pregnant?
If you are sick, it is best to reschedule. If you are pregnant, please reschedule after baby is born. A tattoo can cause unneeded stress on an expecting mother.
How old do I have to be to get a tattoo or piercing?
At Black Flag Studios, we do not tattoo anyone under the age of 18 years old. For piercings, a parent or legal guardian must be present along with legal identification. Piercing locations are subject to age, contact the studio for more information. We will not perform nipple or genital piercings on minors.
How much will my tattoo cost?
We start our pricing at $100 (shop minimum). All artists are independent and price pieces dependent on size, length of the session, and whether it is black and grey or color. Consultations are always free.
Can I bring a friend/parent/cousin, etc. to my appointment?
We ask that you limit your visitors to 1 during your appointment. Please contact your artist for any special accommodations before your service.
What can I bring to my appointment?
We require a government issued ID for any services. Please bring any additional reference material for your artist to view.
Feel free to bring any headphones, cell phone, tablet, or a book for your appointment. Any lidded, non-alcoholic beverages are fine, as well as light snacks.
Do you offer any numbing/anesthetics for the procedure?
Contact your artist directly for any information regarding numbing creams and their individual policies. For permanent makeup services, it is included.
